Influence of Internal Organizational Factors and Institutional Pressures on Construction Firms' Performance

چکیده

A significant number of empirical studies have reported contrasting results regarding the effects certain internal organizational factors (Leadership Style - Team competency and Skills Effective Communication) on construction performance. As a result, generalizations remain sketchy, better understanding is needed. This study lends voice to literature's debate by introducing part played institutional pressures. The aim evaluate impact pressures Syrian firm's performance outcomes, with playing mediator's role. Data were collected using questionnaire instrument from sample 197 building experts working in large public companies Syria analysed partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM). reveal that leadership style effective communication positive effect firm outcomes. However, team skill was not supported; nonetheless, providing as mediator into relationship made it significant, thus, vital theoretical contribution worth considering future research. Practically, this first attempt at evaluating critical determinant should interest management levels.
